The North Zone of Bangalore City comprises of
residential areas of Malleswaram, Rajajinagar, Srirampura Mahalmpura, R.T Nagar, J.C Nagar
and industrial areas of Peenya and regulated market and defence areas of Jalahalli. This
zone has an area of 141.6 Sq.kms and a population around 45,83,000.
This zone is a zone in
contrast. The biggest industrial Estate of Asia is situated in Peenya. Public sector under
takings namely Bharath Electronics Limited, Hindustan Machine Tools, the wheel & Axel
plant are situated in this zone. The famous Mysore Sandal Soap factory is also located in
this zone. A number of temples like Iskon temple, Anjaneya Temple are situated in this
zone.
There are three Asst.
Commissioners of Police in this zone, with headquarters at Malleswaram, Yeswanthapur and
J.C Nagar.
This zone maintains
excellent rapport with the public. Citizen's committee and Mohalla level committees are
constituted in the limits of each of the police Stations. There is a constant interaction
with the members of these committees for exchange of information.
