On the Roads noted below, the speed limits for various types of vehicles are:

1.  Airport Road from its junction with Trinity Circle upto its junction with
Old Approach road to Airport.

2.  Chowdaiah road

3.  Bellary Road

4.  M.G.Road

5.  Old Madras Road

6.  Kasturba Road

7.  Mariyappa Road

8.  Jayanagar, 46th Cross

9.  J.P.Nagar, 100 Ft. Road

10. Jayanagar, 4th Main Road

11.  J.P.Nagar, 24th Main road

12. Grant road

13. East End road

14. Cubbon road

15. Jayamahal road

The maximum speed limits on all other roads in Bangalore City except those roads which are mentioned above, shall be as follows:

  • Cars of all types - 50 Kms

  • Buses, Vans, Trucks, Matadors - 40 Kms

  • Motor Cycle, Scooters etc.

  • Other than mopeds - 40 Kms

  • Mopeds, Autorickshaws, 3 Wheeler Tempos - 30 Kms

  • Tractors, Trailers - 20 Kms

SPECIAL DRIVE AGAINST VISIBLE TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS

The Traffic Police have recently started a massive drive against visible traffic violations and some of the heads under which the drive is being conducted are against:

  • Jumping red signal
  • Dangerous driving
  • Over speeding
  • Wrong parking
  • Cutting Yellow line
  • Jay Walking
  • Drunken driving
  • Removal of encroachments from footpaths
